GROWING IN THE KITCHEN

Bio Coriandrum sativum, both the seeds and the leaves are used in dishes. Sow in a sunny place and keep moist. Pick the protective flowers before harvesting the seed in September with semi-ripe seed. Let it ripen and dry on a piece of paper; the seed comes away easily so you can collect it with the paper.

Sweet Pea, a multi-coloured, richly flowering, low mix which produces a lovely scent. Annual. Can also grow along wire netting to approx. 50 cm

Ocimum Basilicum

Bio Large-leaved Basil. The fresh leaves are picked from mid-June until autumn. Remove the flowers to encourage leaf growth.

Fragaria vesca

The fruits (false fruits) have a sweet scent. They are edible, but considerably smaller than those of the cultivated strawberry. The small fruits have a fresh taste that makes them suitable for fruit salads and drinks, syrup and jam.

Solanum lycopersicum

Tomato Cerise gives an abundant crop of dark red cherry tomatoes of approx. 50 grams. The taste is special and wonderfully sweet. Suitable for use in your salads, pasta and sauce. Cerise is also suitable as a patio tomato, but top the plant in time when sufficient flower clusters have formed.

Petroselinum crispum

Great taste, beautiful color and a healthy plant. When harvesting the leaves, do not cut away the heart of the plant, so that it can be harvested several times. When the plant goes into bloom, parsley loses much of its flavor.

Capsicum annuum

Nice compact pepper. Great for growing in a sunny spot out of the wind on your balcony or small garden. Vigorous growth and good branching. Produces a very high yield of shiny fruits that ripen to red. The taste is more than excellent: deliciously sweet and aromatic!

Mentha

In summer, the fresh, deep green leaves with a refined mint flavor can be picked. Delicious in salads, soups, vegetable and meat dishes. You can make a refreshing tea from fresh or dried leaves. It is a wonderfully fragrant herb and its flowers attract bees and butterflies!

A well-known scent during the summer holidays in Provence or in grandma’s linen cupboard. Real lavender with silver-gray leaves and beautiful blue flowers.

The old-fashioned single-flowered marigold with a dark heart. An easy cut flower with orange flowers and fresh green, fragrant leaves. Finely chopped petals have a sweet, tart taste and are great for use in salads. The marigold is well known in folk medicine.

According to the well-known botanist Dodonaeus, “it can make the hick stop, only by its smell”. The plant has pinnate and fragile leaves. The green-yellow umbel-shaped flowers are very popular and shine in many flower arrangements. The freshly cut leaves smell delicious and go perfectly with fish dishes.

Produces elongated, pointed green fruits, which turn red when ripening and taste sharp. Sharpness 4 based on the “Scoville Heat Units” scale.
