PICKNICK

Baza Bird-Buffet Picknick; food for outdoor birds, for winter, spring and summer. This special collection from Baza offers a varied range, especially aimed at specific types of wild birds per item. There are products for grain and seed eaters, but also mixtures for insectivores. What many people don't know is that outdoor birds can be fed all year round. Especially during the spring and early summer, the birds will welcome the extra feeding. In the course of spring to the end of summer, the young birds grow up and the need for good energy-rich nutrition is greatest.

      The Siskin:
      How does the siskin propagate?
Mating already takes place in winter. The male often sings from the top of a fir and an ecstatic, butterfly-like courtship flight after. The nest is usually made high in a conifer, often in overhanging outer branches.

How do you get to see the siskin?
Spotting Siskins is best done between October and March. Then you can (big) groups dangling acrobatically from alder plugs. Forests, parks and Gardens with alder and birch have a good chance of siskin

      Robins are very smart:

People who regularly work in the vegetable garden are probably familiar with this scene. As soon as you put a shovel in the soil, you’ll have the company of a robin in no time. They wait patiently right in front of your feet and in the meantime keep a close eye on everything that comes up with the shovel. They then pick up many a rainworm or insect.

      Great tits:

Great tits are about 14 centimeters in size and weigh 17 grams. They look like sweet birds, but they are quite aggressive. They don’t like to share and defend their food against other birds. They also do not like to share their territory. They have found a handy trick to scare away competitors: they sing in different tones and from different places. For example, it seems as if there is a whole army of birds in your garden, while it is only one great tit.
