Red beet or beetroot Kogel 2; this dark red beet is sown directly outside from mid-April to mid-July in shallow trenches about 40 cm apart. Don’t sow too close together. Beetroots need about 10 cm of room, otherwise they stay too small. Thin out the excess plants. Early sown beetroots can be harvested as early as July.
